Weekly Pinterest Tip #3 – Be Social

This is the 3rd tip in our series on using Pinterest to promote your brand.  Not every business model is set up to be expressed visually the way Pinterest requires so it may take some translating of your company’s messages to ensure you are offering the right web solutions for the various platforms.  The best marketing agencies do a terrific job of tailoring posts to be most effective whether they are images, videos or great taglines. But that is only half the battle.  It is equally important to get these posts seen.  With Pinterest, like many social media platforms, the social aspect is often what creates the interest for people to visit your boards.  Think of it as the difference between listening to a lecture, or, joining in a conversation.

Nobody likes blatant self promotion.  The key is to form an online identity that is engaging and remember that social media is a two-way street.  Find other businesses with brands that you relate to and like, re-pin, etc.  The top marketing agencies would all agree that you have to be involved with websites like Pinterest and not just a contributor.

At the end of the day, you have to justify the time spent on social media and whether or not it is even the right fit for your business to be on Pinterest.  If it generates leads, and people are re-pinning your posts, then it makes sense to continue.  If you have questions on how to use pinterest, feel free to contact our team.
